West Bengal Madhyamik & HS Result Evaluation Process

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ মধ্যামিক ফলাফল কীভাবে মূল্যায়ন করা হবে ?

At first, let us check how will the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education prepare the 10th Result 2021 ? According to the official announcement, the West Bengal 10th Result will be based on performance in class 9 and 10 where 50 per cent weightage will be provided to class 9 marks and 50 percentage to internal assessments of class 10.

Parameters for 10th Result Evaluation

Class 9 Marks in Final Exam50% Weightage
Class 10 Marks on Internal Assessments50% Weightage

WBCHSE shall prepare the 10+2 Result 2021 by considering the marks obtained by the students in the following –

  • Madhyamik
  • Class 11 annual exam and
  • Class 12 practical or project.

Now, to derive the result, the Council will allot a certain weightage to the above mentioned parameters.

Total marks obtained in the best of four subjects in Madhyamik 201940% Weightage
Total Marks in the Theory Section of Papers in Class XI + Project / Practical Marks in Class XII60% Weightage

Illustration of WB HS Result Evaluation with examples

To understand this better, let us assume that a student has the following marks as under –

  • Total of Best of Four Subjects in Madhyamik in 2019 – 200 Marks out of 400.
  • XI Marks in Physics Theory Part – 50 out of 70.
  • XII Practical Marks in Physics – 28 out of 30.

Now, to derive the mark in Physics for HS Result 2021, the calculation will be like this –

Physics Mark Theory Part (A&B) – 70 Marks

40% Weightage for 70 MarksA60% Weightage for 70 Marks – B
40% of 70 x 200 Marks (Best of 4 subjects total in Madhyamik 2019)/400 = 14 Marks60% of 70 x 50 marks (XI Marks in Physics Theory Part)/70 = 30 Marks

Physics Mark Practical Part (C) – 30 Marks

The student has secured 28 out of 30 in XII Practical Marks in Physics subject.

Thus, the HS Result 2021 mark for Physics of that student is ( A+B+C) = (14+30+28) marks = 72 marks.

In an another example, let us assume a student has the following mark in different stages as under –

  • Total of Best of Four Subjects in Madhyamik in 2019 – 200 Marks out of 400.
  • XI Marks in History Theory Part – 70 out of 80.
  • XII Project/Internal Marks in History is 18 out of 20.

Now, to derive the mark in History for HS Result 2021, the calculation will be like this –

History Mark Theory Part (A&B) – 80 Marks

40% Weightage for 80 Marks– A60% Weightage for 80 Marks – B
40% of 80 x 200 Marks ( Best of 4 subjects total in Madhyamik 2019)/400 = 16 Marks60% of 80 x 70 marks (XI Marks in History Theory Part)/80 = 42 Marks

History Mark Project / Internal Part (C) – 20 Marks

The student has secured 18 out of 20 in XII Project / internal Marks in History subject.

Thus, the HS Result 2021 mark for History of that student is ( A+B+C) = (16+42+18) marks = 76 marks.

Hopefully, by now the complete calculation process is clear to the examinees. Hence, the students can calculate the approximate individual mark by following the discussion above.
