West Bengal Free Ration / Special Ration Order: West Bengal Government to mitigate the hardship due to Lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus or COVID-19 has decided to provide food grains (rice and wheat / fortified atta) free of the cost through Public Distribution System. The WB Free Ration Order will be effective for a period of six months (6 months) from 1st April 2020 to 30th September 2020.
Distribution of this free ration in West Bengal will benefit about 7.88 Crore AAY, SPHH, PHH, and RSKY – I beneficiaries. The listed Ration Card beneficiaries will continue to receive the ration through the FPS or Ration Dealer at their location. The RSKY II Ration Card Holders will not be entitled to free ration and hence shall continue to receive the subsidized ration at the rates as applicable from earlier.
The Citizens who do not have a WB Digital ration card and are waiting for the Digital Ration Card should visit the concerned Block Development Office. Thereafter, the Authority will issue a Slip through which the residents of West Bengal can get the WB Free Ration on the production of this at the FPS Ration Dealer Shop.
Timing to collect West Bengal PDS Free Ration Scheme
The residents of West Bengal can go through the following announced timings of the Ration Shops during which the FPS Dealer will provide the free ration to the cardholders.
