Secondly, the number of applicants for this Examination is less, thus making this exam a less competitive one. Thirdly the Examination is open for candidates who are not graduate, only applicants who have passed 10+2 Examination can appear for this Recruitment.

As a Stenographer Group D, selected candidates will be posted as Junior Stenographer in a Govt. Department. But Stenographer being a special cadre opens up the promotion opportunities for this cadres especially. This can be illustrated through an example below-
Let us assume that you have been selected as Stenographer in the Income Tax Department or Central Board of Indirect Tax, after three years of service; you can appear for IT Inspector Exam through Departmental Exam. The same promotion rule is applicable in CBI, aspirants selected in CBI can become a CBI Inspector through Departmental Exam very soon. Now if somebody thinks of Departmental Exam to be very competitive. We can’t believe that as you all have been preparing hard to crack pan India level competitive Exams, hence clearing Departmental Exams should not bother you all.
