Punjab Constable Recruitment Selection Process

The Punjab Police team selects the aspirants on basis of their performance in phases held during the selection process. Actually, the selection process for the recruitment shall be a 2 (two) stage process consisting of following Tests:

Punjab Police Constable Exam (Stage I) Pattern Overview

The first stage of the selection process shall be the OMR based offline Written Test comprising of one question paper which shall consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The Question Paper shall comprise 100 questions carrying one (01) mark each and shall be bilingual viz. in Punjabi and English. Punjab Constable Stage II PMT & PET Details

The candidates, whose documents uploaded with the Application Form match with the original presented on the spot during document scrutiny, shall be eligible to undergo the Physical Measurement Test (PMT).

Physical Measurement Test Details

The candidates, who are found to be of or above the requisite minimum height ( Male candidates – 5 feet 7 inches and Female candidates – 5 feet 2 inches) shall be eligible for the Physical Screening Test (PST).

Punjab Police Constable Physical Screening Test (PST) Details

The Physical Screening Test (PST) shall be qualifying in nature, and shall comprise of the following events:

For Male Candidates (excluding ex-servicemen)1600 Meters Race to be completed in 6 minutes 30 seconds (only one chance).
Long Jump 3.80 Meters (3 chances).
High Jump 1.10 Meters (3 chances).
For Male Candidates (ExS of age upto and including 35 years)1400 Meters Walk and Run to be completed in 9 minutes. (only one chance).
10 Full Squats. (only one chance).
For Male Candidates (ExS of age more than 35 years)1400 Meters Walk and Run to be completed in 12 minutes. (only one chance).
10 Full Squats. (only one chance).
For Female Candidates (excluding ex-servicemen)800 Meters Race to be completed in 4 minutes and 30 seconds. (only one chance)
Long Jump 3.00 Meters. (3 chances)
High Jump 0.95 Meters. (3 chances)
For Female Candidates ExS of age less than and equal to 35 years800 meters run to be completed in 5 minutes (only one chance).
Long Jump 2.75 meters (3 chances).
High Jump 0.90 meters (3 chances).
For Female Candidates ExS of age more than 35 years(i) 800 meters run to be completed in 06 minutes (only one chance).

Note: Candidates shall be required to qualify all the events for the particular category to which she/he belongs. Failure to qualify any one event for that particular category shall disqualify the candidate.
