Eligibility for Admission @ Presidency University thru PUBDET
The students possessing the undermentioned eligibility can only apply for online admission registration of PUBDET 2023 Exam for admission to UG Programmes at Presidency University.
- Candidates must have passed (not before 2022) OR appeared (in 2023) in the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 system) conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or any equivalent examination.
- Candidate must pass any of the aforementioned examinations, with at least five recognized subjects (full marks not less than 100), including English language and excluding Environmental Science.
- Candidates with International ‘A’ level or International Baccalaureate qualifications must have at least three subjects at the IGCSE level and three subjects at the ‘A’ level, with English in either of the two levels.

The candidate must secure a minimum aggregate score in percentage as per the following table in his/her qualifying examination in (10+2)th standard to apply for admission to Presidency University.

PUBDET Result 2023 / Presidency University General Merit List (GMR)
WBJEEB will prepare PUBDET 2023 Merit Ranks based on the candidates’ score in the entrance tests. Individual candidates will be able to view and download his/her Rank Card, which will contain score and rank. WBJEEB does not publish any general ranks/score list.
- The rank shall be in the name and style of ‘GMR’ (General Merit Rank)
- Ranking shall be done in the descending order of marks scored in the entrance test.
- Separate reserved category merit position will also be indicated for respective category of students e.g., SC/ ST/ OBC-A /OBC-B /PwD/ EWS etc. as applicable.
- Sequencing order for counselling/allotment of seat/admission will be based on GMR only (not on category ranks). Category ranks are only for information to candidates.
- Category ranks are generated based on the category information given by the candidates during online application.
Procedure of release of PUBDET Merit List 2023
WBJEEB does not publish any rank/score list. The PUBDET Result 2023 will be published in the form of Rank Card, which will contain all relevant ranks and total score. Candidates can view and download their rank card by logging in with their password. Ranks cards with scores are be issued to all candidates, who appears in the examination. But all may not be awarded a rank and hence may not be eligible for counseling, for which a cut off rank and/or a cut off score will be decided by the board.
Tie-breaking Methodology for PUBDET Merit List 2023
In case of tie, during the calculation of PUBDET Rank Card, the WBJEEB will adopt the following tie breaking methodologies –
- The candidates with less negative score will have better rank.
- If a tie exists further, all such candidates will be placed in the same rank and will be considered for counselling and admission with bunching effect.
PUBDET 2023 Counselling, Seat Allotment and Provisional Admission
WBJEEB will issue a separate notification with details of counseling/seat allotment and admission on www.wbjeeb.in and www.wbjeeb.nic.in in due course after publication of result. The Course-wise and institute wise availability of seats will also be published before counseling and seat allotment. The candidates are to attend the counseling and on selection has to complete the admission formalities.
