Selection Criteria for JE (Civil / Mechanical) Posts
The Selection for the JE Civil / Mechanical Post shall be based on educational Qualification and experience as contractual Post in Bihar State Government. The method to calculate merit and the marks distribution details are as follows-

| Engineering Diploma Percentage | 75 |
| Experience as a contractual Engineer in Bihar Govt. Departments. | 25 |
| TOTAL | 100 |
For 75 Marks : The percentage in Diploma Engineering will be multiplied with .75 (.75×100=75). This means, if a candidate’s score is 80% in Engineering, then his / her score is (.75×80) = 60 Marks.
For 25 Marks on Experiences: To Calculate 25 Marks on experience, the candidate’s working days will be multiplied by 5 & then this will be divided by 365 to derive the marks on percentage. For example, If a person has worked for 250 days in a year; his marks on experience for that year will be = ( 5×250/365) = 3.424 marks.
