Kolkata Police Constable / Lady Constable Selection Process
Selection of Kolkata Police Constable or Lady Constable shall be through the following selection process as decided by WBPRB.

Applicant should note that, on the basis of the marks obtained in the Final Written Examination and the Interview, a merit list of the provisionally selected candidates will be prepared by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
Kolkata Police Constable Preliminary Exam Pattern
The first exam that the applicant has to face is the Preliminary Examination. As per the notification, all of the applicants are provisionally eligible to appear in Preliminary Exam. This Exam is an MCQ based test which is qualifying in nature. This means that the marks obtained by a candidate in the preliminary written test will not be considered for preparing final merit list. Questions in this exam will be from the following subjects –

- The duration of this test will be 1(one) hour.
- Question paper will be set in two languages (Bengali & Nepali).
- Each question will carry 1 (one) mark for right answer.
- ¼ th of the allotted marks for a particular question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
- The qualifying marks in the exam will be fixed by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board.
Kolkata Police Constable Final Written Exam Pattern
Prelims qualified candidates will have to appear for PMT & PET. Thereafter, WBPRB will organise the Final Written Exam for the candidates who qualify the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This Exam will have objective type questions. The Exam Scheme is thus shared as follows –
