How is Hooghly Mohsin College Merit List Prepared?
Almost all of the applicants know that the Higher Secondary Marks will be considered for admission to UG Programmes. But do you know, how does the Hooghly Mohsin College Merit List gets calculated? Well here is the answer. Actually, for admission in Honours or General Degree courses 1st Semester from WBCHSE (10+2) or equivalent Examination, the Merit List will be prepared from the best five subject marks except for Environmental Studies (Compulsory additional). If Environmental Studies is a Compulsory elective with 100 marks, then it can be included within the best five subjects. This is further illustrated through the merit point calculation discussed below.

Here, X = the total marks of ‘BEST FIVE SUBJECTS’ [ For candidates who have passed with four subjects, X = Total of four subjects multiplied by 1.25 ] & Y= Marks in the subjects applied for Honours.
Please Note:
For Geology Honours, Y = Sum of marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
For BSC Economics Honours, Y = Marks in Mathematics.
In case of other Stream candidates applied for BCOM Hons. Accounting & Finance, Y = Marks in Mathematics.
